Vice President Biden will attend Saturday's inauguration of Ukraine's new president, Petro Poroshenko.

In Kiev, Biden will meet with Ukraine's leaders to discuss violence in the eastern part of the country and Russia's annexation of the Crimean region.

Another topic is "how the United States can assist Ukraine with fighting corruption, strengthening its democratic institutions and putting its economy back on a path towards sustainable growth," the White House said in a statement.

President Obama will meet with Poroshenko on Wednesday as both leaders visit Warsaw to commemorate the 25th anniversary of free elections in Poland.

Saturday, Biden will lead a U.S. delegation to Poroshenko's inauguration, but other members have not been named.
