SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- A Marysville man was arrested Saturday after he crashed into a traffic pole, knocked a red-light camera into the back of his truck and drove away from the scene, police said.

Manuel Montano Herrera, 19, was taken into custody Saturday afternoon, hours after the hit-and-run crash, Marysville Police Sgt. Chris Sachs said.

The crash occurred at 6:37 a.m. in Marsyville. The front of Herrera's blue Toyota truck hit the traffic pole, causing the Redflex Camera and pole to fall into the truck's bed, Sachs said. Herrera then drove away from the scene.

Witnesses were able to take a photo of Herrera as he was trying to remove the camera out of the truck bed, Sachs said.

Herrera was booked into Yuba County Jail for a hit-and-run traffic collision and grand theft.

Police were able to recover the red-light camera after Herrera's arrested.
