Toronto Mayor Rob Ford laughs during the Executive Council meeting at City Hall in Toronto on Jan. 22. / Frank Gunn, AP

Embattled Toronto Mayor Rob Ford says he is in rehab and enjoying it.

"Rehab is amazing," Ford told The Toronto Sun.

He compared it to the Washington Redskins camp he went to as a boy.

Last week, Ford said he was taking a month off for alcoholism treatment after two new embarassing recordings surfaced, one in which he was delivering a lewd rant about a city council member and another in which he was smoking something that a source told a Toronto newspaper was crack cocaine.

It's unclear where Ford is getting treatment. A report in The (Toronto) Globe and Mail said Ford was denied entry into the United States for rehab.

Although Ford is still the mayor of Toronto, the City Council has stripped him of much of his power.

Ford, however, said he still plans to run for re-election in October.

In the interview with the Sun, Ford said, "Of course, I am coming back and I am going to kick butt."
