Google Doodle honors Audrey Hepburn / Google

Instead of highlighting Star Wars Day, Google decided to show Internet users the iconic face of Audrey Hepburn.

Google honored the Academy Award-winning actress Sunday on what would have been her 85th birthday. Hepburn died of cancer at age 63.

The inspiration for her doodle portrait came from Yousuf Karsh's photograph in 1956, according to a Google blog post.

"Not only was she a classically beautiful actress, she also dedicated her life to philanthropy. I wanted to show both sides of her life's work," said artist Jennifer Hom.

Hom said she used a splash of pink with black and white for the doodle. She also used figures of Hepburn dancing with children to showcase Hepburn's humanitarian work.

Hepburn is perhaps best known for her earlier roles in Roman Holiday, Funny Face and Breakfast at Tiffany's. But Hepburn continued to age beautifully as an ambassador for UNICEF.
