A special host greeted President Obama and first lady Michelle Obama on Wednesday in Houston: Local resident and ex-President George H.W. Bush.

"I just wanted to say hello to the president and the first lady," the 41st president told reporters. "When the president comes to your hometown, you show up and welcome him."

Houston is indeed Bush's town; Air Force One landed at George Bush Intercontinental Airport.

Obama is in the city for a pair of Democratic fundraisers.

Bush also greeted some veteran members of the White House press corps.

"Look at you," he told one photographer. "You don't look any older."
