My Sweet Love/My Sweet Baby Cuddle Care doll / Consumer Product Safety Commission
The My Sweet Love/My Sweet Baby Cuddle Care Baby Doll babbles, coughs and her cheeks turn red. The doll can also overheat and cause burns.
Wal-Mart is recalling 174,000 dolls, which have a circuit board in the chest that could overheat and cause the surface of the doll to get hot, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission.
Wal-Mart received 12 reports related to the doll, including two reports that the doll caused burns or blisters to the user's thumb, the commission said.
The battery-operated dolls have been sold exclusively at Wal-Mart stores since August 2012 for about $20.
Customers who have the doll should remove the batteries and return it to Wal-Mart for a full refund.
You can also call Wal-Mart at 1-800-925-6278.
Wal-Mart currently sells other dolls by the same manufacturer from China.
"We haven't discussed future business with the supplier, but they have been extremely cooperative in this entire process," said Wal-Mart spokeswoman Dianna Gee.
