The Boston Red Sox, last year's World Series champions, will visit President Obama at the White House on Tuesday.

The scheduling is convenient: The Red Sox are staying in nearby Baltimore for a season-opening series with the Orioles.

"This visit will continue the tradition begun by President Obama of honoring sports teams for their efforts to give back to their communities," said the White House.
