When Chinese leader Xi Jinping met with President Obama in the Netherlands on Monday, he delivered a unique message -- from the American first lady.

"When I was bidding farewell to Michelle in Beijing, she asked me to formally convey to you her best regards," Xi joked to Obama during statements to reporters.

While the president is in Europe, Mrs. Obama and their two children are visiting China.

The American president thanked Xi for his hospitality, noting that his family has visited the Great Wall and other famous sites.

The first lady "also played some table tennis, although I think this was not the high-level Ping-Pong diplomacy that we saw in the past," Obama joked.

Obama and Xi also discussed Russia's incursion into Ukraine. North Korea's nuclear weapons, mutual surveillance programs, trade, and climate change.

The presidents met on the sidelines of the Nuclear Security Summit at The Hague, Netherlands.
