President Obama / Evan Vucci, AP

President Obama stumps for a minimum wage hike today by appealing to specific television markets.

The president will sit for interviews with stations based in New England, St. Louis, Minneapolis, Dallas, Phoenix and San Diego.

Obama will "make the case for raising the minimum wage and giving hardworking Americans the raise they deserve," the White House says.

He has asked Congress to increase the minimum wage from $7.25 to $10.10 per hour.

Also today, Obama will host the screening of a new film about Cesar Chávez, the farmworker who campaigned for labor rights.
