President Obama awarded two Purple Hearts to wounded warriors on Monday, the White House said.

Obama made the presentations during a visit to the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Md., which treats troops wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The president visited with a total of 11 servicemembers, the White House said: Six soldiers, three Marines, and two sailors.
