President Obama celebrates St. Patrick's Day early as he welcomes Irish Prime Minister Enda Kenny to the White House on Friday.

Obama and Kenny meet in the Oval Office on Friday morning before heading to Capitol Hill for the annual St. Patrick's Day lunch.

"The United States and Ireland share a strong bilateral relationship; deep cultural, historic, and people-to-people bonds; and a shared commitment to advancing peace, security, and prosperity in the world," says the White House schedule.

In the late afternoon, The president and first lady Michelle Obama host a St. Patrick's Day reception in the East Room at the White House.

St. Patrick's Day itself is on Monday.

Also on Friday, the website WebMD broadcasts a chat with Obama about his health care plan.
