INDIANAPOLIS -- A teenage beauty queen who went missing in Nebraska earlier this week was located Thursday night in Marion County with a male companion.

Michaela Wells, 16, was reported missing from her home in Bellevue, Neb., on Monday, according to Bellevue police.

She was found in Lawrence, Ind., at about 8:20 p.m. Thursday, and members of the FBI and the Bellevue Police Department informed Michaela's mother, Theresa Norris, soon after that her daughter had been found safe, according to a news release from Bellevue police.

Michaela was found by FBI agents inside a home with a male juvenile and told officials that she had left her home of her own accord, according to the release. The release did not mention the age of the male.

Bellevue detectives turned to the FBI for help when they learned that the girl likely was in Indiana.

She is now in the custody of Indiana child-welfare officials, and Bellevue police and the FBI are working to return her to Nebraska.

Capt. Gary Woodruff of the Lawrence Police Department said the department assisted the FBI by sending an officer and marked vehicle to the site where the teen was located.

Wells, according to her Facebook page, was the 2013 USA National Miss Nebraska Teen.
