As the world prepares for the Sochi opening ceremonies we take a look back at some of the most unforgettable Olympic kickoffs.

In Barcelona in 1992, Paralympic archer Antonio Rebollo lit the Olympic flame with a flaming arrow. Boxing legend Muhammad Ali, struggling with Parkinson's, lit the torch in Atlanta in 1996.

Most recently, Daniel Craig's James Bond teamed up with the Queen for a staged skydive into the Olympic Stadium in London 2012.

Another fan favorite was Beijing 2008. The four-hour extravaganza showcased thousands of dancers, trapeze acrobats and drummers.

Watch the video for a look back at these memorable moments.
