To the Super Bowl victors belong the spoils -- a White House visit.

President Obama formally invited the pro football champion Seattle Seahawks to the White House during a Tuesday phone call to Coach Pete Carroll, the White House said.

"The President commended Coach Carroll and his team for a great game, and expressed how exciting it has been to watch the team play all season," said a White House statement. "The President told Coach Carroll that he looks forward to congratulating him and the team at the White House in the coming months."

The Seahawks hammered the Denver Broncos 43-8 in Sunday's Super Bowl game. The team's White House visit will be scheduled later this year.
