What is ... awesomely awkward?

The answer: Alex Trebek rapping an entire category on Jeopardy!

On Monday's show, Trebek, who has hosted the show for 30 years, read famous rap lyrics from Dr. Dre, Grandmaster Flash, Biggie and the Beastie Boys in the category "It's a Rap."

Among the lyrics: "Don't push me, 'cause I'm close to the edge/I'm trying not to lose my head" and "Another plane/another train/another bottle in the brain."

Trebek started trending on Twitter, prompting concerns that the 73-year-old host had died.

The reaction to Trebek rapping could be described as a mixture of both delight and finding it cringeworthy. According to Nancy McDonald, it was "painfully awkward." But Jeff Pearlman tweeted it was "the most awesome thing ever."
