What a difference a year makes. After finding himself on the unemployment line last offseason, Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Jacoby Jones will spending his downtime on the congo line this spring. The Super Bowl star, who had a 108-yard kickoff return for a touchdown and 56-yard TD catch in the Ravens' 34-31 win over the 49ers earlier this month, will be the latest NFL player to join the cast of ABC's Dancing With the Stars.
Jones is the first dancer to be announced from the upcoming 16th season, with the remainder of the cast being revealed Tuesday morning. He'll attempt to be the fourth NFL player (and third active one) to win the competition, following Emmitt Smith, Hines Ward and Donald Driver. Jerry Rice, Jason Taylor, Warren Sapp, Lawrence Taylor, Michael Irvin, Chad Ochocinco and Kurt Warner have also appeared on the program, giving Jones quite a Hall of Fame list of dancing shoes to fill.
New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz turned down the opportunity to appear on the show after his team's Super Bowl XLVI win, saying that he didn't want to commit to the 20 hour per week commitment it would have required.
