Now, there is this.
During halftime of William Carey's NAIA game against Auburn Montgomery on Thursday night, a cheerleader made a half-court shot in epic, acrobatic fashion.
The William Carey cheerleader, Ashlee Arnau, first picked up the ball as she was doing a forward handspring and then launched an overhead heave close to 50 feet from the rim and completely drained the half-court shot. No bank was open. Nothing but net.
Apparently, Arnau has been practicing the shot since Christmas and finally made it.
The half-court trick shot was impressive not only because of it being mid-flip, but also because of the arm strength needed. As it turns out, Arnau is on the William Carey soccer team as well. Not a bad way to combine two skill sets.
