Jennifer Greene, 18 - Charged with felony cruelty to animals, to take, harass, harm, kill a gopher tortoise July 25. / Clay County Sheriff's Office

CLAY COUNTY, Fla. -- The teen girl accused of setting a protected gopher tortoise on fire and then stomping it to death is now facing sex charges stemming from an encounter with a young boy.

According to an arrest report issued by the Clay County Sheriff's Office on Wednesday, Jennifer Greene, 18, has been charged with lewd and lascivious battery on an underage boy.

The alleged incident took place on June 19, shortly before Greene turned 18. According to WTEV, authorities said Greene performed oral sex on the victim, who was younger than 16, showed him her breasts, and allowed him to touch her.

The victim, whose age was redacted in the report, told investigators the two were playing hide and seek when he initiated a sexual conversation that led to the activity.

Greene was charged Wednesday as a juvenile for lewd and lascivious battery. She was charged Saturday morning with felony animal cruelty in the death of the gopher tortoise, which is a protected species.

If convicted of the animal cruelty charge, Greene faces up to five years in prison. The misdemeanor battery charge calls for 60 days in jail and/or a $500 fine.

Greene is being held in Clay County Jail on $50,000 bond. She's due back in court in August.
