Cameron Mills photographed these thoroughbreds at sunset less than a mile from Mills' home in Lexington, Ky. "I jumped on my bicycle and rode as fast as I could so I wouldn't miss the good light."
At the Toledo Botanical Garden in Ohio, Julia Barden was squeamish when she observed a frog camouflaged in a brook. "I was amazed by how his color seemed to match the water, providing incredible camouflage. As a city girl, I've never liked frogs nor been so close to one!"

Glenn Nishida captured a peaceful sunrise on the east side of Oahu as part of a 365 project. "It started off as a sunrise photo a day and by June, it was finding gratitude and love of nature a day," Nishida writes. "When you start each day with a sunrise, how can you have a bad day?"
