Game of Thrones has triumphed over the snubs and surprises of the television industry's Purple Wedding, otherwise known as the 66th annual Primetime Emmy Awards nomination announcements.

HBO's critically acclaimed series tops the year's Emmy contenders with 19 nods, including for best drama series, announced Thursday morning.
