Beach-goers sit by the ocean in South Haven, Mich. / Wayne Cragg, Your Take

Saturday marks the summer solstice, the longest day of the year. As the temperatures start heating up, we asked Your Take contributors to share their summer outlooks.

Contributor Wayne Cragg shared this photo of beachgoers soaking up the sun June 16 in South Haven, Mich.

In Southern California, Tim Kellogg photographed a surfer flying over the waves.

"Brooksby Village, a continuing care retirement community in Massachusetts, created daylong events around the summer solstice to raise Alzheimer's awareness," said Dani Baldassare.

When a crowd in Annapolis, Md., gathered to watch a local band perform, Lee Anne Kelly shot the sun setting behind the audience.

"How can I not enjoy summer when I view things like this? I saw this adorable sight in Marin County, Calif.," wrote Colleen Bidwill.

Jeffrey Goodman captured the sun shining through his son's bubbles in their backyard in Ohio.

From Belin Memorial United Methodist Church's seawall, Austin Bond caught a fireworks show over Murrells Inlet, S.C.
