A tree fell onto Gregory Vance and two men last week in Logan County, W.Va. With cell service down, Vance's daughter turned to Facebook to seek help. / Kristen Williams, Logan County Fire Department

A 10-year-old West Virginia girl turned to Facebook for help when her father and two other men became pinned under a tree after a storm tore through Logan County last week.

Cell service was not available, but Brianna Vance was still able to get online.

In the video she posted, Brianna is crying and says, "The lightning crashed and hit a tree by our porch and my dad's almost dead. He needs an ambulance, please. Please call one for us if you have signal. We live in a yellow house, a trailer. Please. We need an ambulance."

Someone saw the video and called the county's dispatch center, said Henlawson Fire Department Lt. Tim Granger, one of the people who responded to the scene.

"The little girl has become one of my own heroes," Granger told USA TODAY Network.

Brianna's father, Gregory Vance, and another man were transported to a hospital. WOWK-TV in Charleston, W.Va., reports Vance suffered broken ribs, disks and shoulder but was released Sunday, Father's Day.
