A tornado spins near Hildreth, Neb., Saturday evening. / Chris Sheen

Late Saturday, the central Plains was hit by a series of severe thunderstorms as a cold front sliced through the region.

There were 10 reports of tornadoes and hundreds of reports of hail and wind, according to the Storm Prediction Center (SPC).

Check out this scary shot of a tornado close to Hildreth, Neb., taken by Chris Sheen and posted on his Twitter account.

No damage reports were recorded from this storm as it roared through the lightly-populated area.

More storms are forecast to batter the central Plains today, with eastern Nebraska, northern Iowa and southern Minnesota in the crosshairs for the worst storms. Cities such as Omaha, Lincoln and Des Moines are all in a "moderate" level of risk, the SPC predicts.
