Troy, Ohio, native Ryan Brewer, who couldn’t get a scholarship to Ohio State, simply beat the Buckeyes with 214 all-purpose yards and three TDs to lead unranked South Carolina to an easy victory.

Ohio State played listlessly throughout, perhaps still smarting from a 38-26 loss to Michigan in the regular season finale. Whatever the case, the 22nd-ranked Buckeyes suffered a meltdown with several unsportsmanlike conduct penalties in what turned out to be John Cooper’s final game.

OSU trailed 10-7 entering the fourth quarter, but two Brewer touchdowns put the contest away as the Buckeyes rarely threatened.
