Jan. 1, 1990 - Hall of Fame Bowl
Auburn 31, Ohio State 14

Most fans remember this game for a monster hit by OSU defensive back Zach Dumas. But it was Auburn that really clocked the Buckeyes, especially in the second half.

Ohio State enjoyed a 14-3 second-quarter lead, but the game changed when Auburn QB Reggie Slack fired an 11-yard touchdown pass to Greg Taylor in the final seconds of the first half.

The Tigers dominated after that, outscoring the Bucks 21-0 to roll to the easy victory. Ohio State receiver Jeff Graham had five catches for 103 yards, but was injured and didn’t play in the second half. Slack threw for 141 yards and three scores and added a short touchdown run to win the game’s MVP honors.
