Since opening in 1964, Valley View has strived to offer players a quality experience at a modest price. It’s done just that as evidenced by the many local golfers who call this course home. In fact, Valley View has been the winner of the “Best Course in Crawford County” five straight years.
Valley View was designed by Lee Stuckman and is still owned and operated by the Stuckman family. It’s their commitment to offering public golfers an enjoyable layout that has earned the course so many favorable reviews.
The rolling, scenic layout measures just over 6,500 yards from the back tees. Accuracy is a key opponent to scoring well here. The tree-lined fairways and sloping greens require players to hit their targets off the tee and on approach shots.
The signature hole is No. 6. This par 4 dogleg plays uphill and requires a tee shot around the largest elm tree in the entire county.
The most difficult hole at Valley View is No. 16. This long par 3 measures just at 200 yards and features water both to the left and right.
Number 5 is a classic risk-reward par 5 that requires a long and accurate second shot over water to reach the green.
